Ludo is played with 2 to 4 players. Each player has four tokens. The goal is to move all four tokens from the start to the home area by rolling dice, following the rules of the game.
You move your tokens based on the number rolled on the dice. A token moves forward by the number of spaces shown on the dice roll, and you can move one token at a time.
Yes, you can move a token if the dice roll allows, but you can only bring a new token into play when you roll a 6. A 6 roll gives you an extra turn to move another token.
If you land on an opponent’s token, you send that token back to the starting area, and the opponent must roll again to move it out. You also get another turn.
To win, you must move all four of your tokens around the board and into your home area before any of your opponents do.

A 'safe spot' is a colored square on the board where your token cannot be sent back to the start by opponents. These are usually near your home area or on the path to it.
Rolling a 6 is important because it allows you to move a token out of the starting area. Additionally, when you roll a 6, you get an extra turn to play again.
